ABOUT
I am a fully trained and accredited Hypnobirthing Practitioner having qualified with the original Marie Mongan Hypnobirthing Institute of the UK soon after having my first hypnobirth in 2005 and second hypnobirth in 2010. At the time I was neither into yoga nor any form of meditation and could not believe that, with the support of my husband, I achieved the birth of my dreams. Twice.
I was told by my Consultant Obstetrician at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Dr Keith Duncan, that my birth was “the best first time birth” he had witnessed in 27 years of delivering babies.
After my training I first worked at Hypno Clinic in West London and then at the Life Centre in Notting Hill before setting up North London Hypnobirthing and did large group bookings. My clients were mostly bankers, medics, actors.
I later moved to North Oxford and two decades on remain passionate about working with mothers-to-be and their birthing partners who are interested in exploring this powerful method of childbirth, used by the Princess Of Wales, in order to achieve a more natural, calm and joyful birthing experience.
I am delighted to be offering live and in person courses on two consecutive days in my home, in North Oxford.

ABOUT HYPNOBIRTHING

Hypnobirthing is a unique childbirth method which turns the way we traditionally think of childbirth on it's head!
Marie Mongan, the founder of HypnoBirthing, recognised that a woman's body is naturally designed to give birth. She witnessed time and time again that through hypnosis (a deepened state of relaxation) there was no reason why a mum-to-be couldn't achieve a safer, smoother, more comfortable birthing, working with her body instead of against it. She saw birth in a truly positive light, highlighting the fact that it is, in fact, the day mum-to-be will be meeting her baby face-to-face for the first time!
Positive affirmations, special breathing and visualisation techniques are the main tools practiced and used during HypnoBirthing.
Partners play a significant role in HypnoBirthing. The partner's main job is to help mum-to-be remain or go back into a relaxed state during all stages of birthing using various afore mentioned techniques as well as light touch massage and anchoring techniques. Techniques are practiced before the birth as well as on the birthing day - often in a succinct yet more powerful way.
